History
The Center for Women's Ministries, Inc. was founded in Bloomington, Indiana in 1989. It grew from the spirit-led conviction that although there are many social service agencies available, the element lacking in emotional healing is a spiritual emphasis.

The Center for Women's Ministries Inc. is a free non-denominational ministry for women of all ages and economic status promoting emotional and spiritual healing. Our volunteer mentors guide hurting women toward God's abundant love and wholeness.

The ministry is designed to create an environment where non-judgmental listening, sharing, encouragement, and prayer support can take place. The ministry has been welcomed by Focus on the Family & Meier New life Clinics as a part of their paraprofessional counseling referral networks.

Centers are staffed by trained volunteers. The services are free of charge and include individual peer counseling sessions with trained caring partners, support groups, Bible studies and prayer groups.

Centers offer such facilities as counseling rooms, lounge, lending library, and meditation chapel. Training sessions, seminars and retreats are conducted for volunteers' growth.

What we are
We are a safe place for hurting women to come in order to receive non-judgmental listening, comfort, encouragement and support with a spiritual emphasis. We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation.

What we are not
We are not professional therapists. We recognize that some women need the help of someone more extensively trained than we are. In these situations, we refer from an approved list of professionals.

Areas of ministry
We offer 40 areas of ministry including abuse, childlessness, codependency, death, depression, divorce, eating disorders, fears and phobias, jail, illness and disability, parenting, pregnancy, promiscuity, relationships, self-esteem, sexuality, singleness, spirituality, stress, suicide, and woundedness from childhood.

If your area of concern is not listed here, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to assist you.
Statement of Faith
We believe that in our brokenness we can come to know the love of God through Jesus. Because He lives, we can experience emotional and spiritual healing.

Scriptural Directive
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted: He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners;...to grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead or mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting...
